  12U & Under A & B 

Dear Coaches:  The Northern National Tournaments for 12U (separate Tournaments) will be held this year at Eagan Minnesota, just south of St. Paul and Minneapolis, by the International airport  and just a few miles from the Mall of America.

  “YOUR ENTRY MUST BE APPROVED BY YOUR STATE OR REGIONAL NAFA REPRESENTATIVE ALONG WITH YOUR ENTRY FEE AND THE ENTRY FORM OF THIS PACKET.”  It is your team’s responsibility to check on accepted entries and paperwork with the National Tournament Director.

  The North American Championship Tournament play dates are July 22nd through July 25th   

 It is the "TEAM’S RESPONSIBILITY" to verify their entries and paperwork has been received and accepted by the National Tournament Director.  We hope you will enjoy the tournament as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.  We look forward to seeing you there and expect a great tournament.

12A & 12B UNDER

Tournament Class:

12A & 12B Under Girls Fastpitch

Tournament Site:

Eagan, Northview and Lexington Diffley Complex (about 1 mile apart) Motels & Fields

Tournament Playing Dates:

            July 22nd through July 25th, 2010

 Tournament Format:

5 Game minimum Guarantee:  3 Round Robin Pool Games, followed by a 2 Game Guarantee Elimination Bracket.  Pool Play will determine  flights of play.  There are no special requests for start times.  All teams MUST be available to play their first game at 8:00 AM on Thursday morning.  Any game forfeited will be scored as a 7 – 0 loss and the team is subject to expulsion from the tournament at the discretion of the tournament director.

 Tournament Entry Fee:

The entry fee for NAFA members is $450.00.  The first 104 entries/berths will be accepted.  Preferred method of payment is by certified check, cashier’s check or money orders, Team checks will be excepted within two weeks of the Tournament.  NO REFUNDS

Tournament Gate Entry Information:

 Your gate fee per team is $100 payable to Eagan Fastpitch.  

Tournament Qualification Criteria:

Qualification is awarded through the State and Regional NAFA Offices.

Tournament Awards:

            1st – 4th Place Team Awards                                 1st – 4th Place Individual Awards

               12 A Tournament & 12 B Tournament Championship Awards           

 Gift Exchange and Pin Trading:

There will be a gift exchange before your FIRST POOL GAME ONLY.  Each team is requested to exchange some type of gift generally representative of their state heritage and customs Team pins, T-shirts, etc before the first pool game with their first opponent.  Pin trading throughout the tournament is highly recommended.

 Tournament Roster:  Roster Form   Click on blue Roster/Waiver Form on the front of the NAFA National Web site. 

All rosters are due at registration (18 player limit).  There is an official roster form included in your packet.   Roster changes must be reported at the mandatory coaches meeting, on 'Wednesday evening, July 21st.

   

 TOURNAMENT UNIFORM:      All teams dress alike in uniform – color and style – including coaches with like colored shirts..

  Thursday, July 22nd Schedule

Team Check-In:  At Northview from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM – All teams must CHECK IN at least one hour before your first game.   The team manager/coach should pick up the team packet that will contain Pool Schedules, game ball, and manager’s handouts.  Rosters must be submitted at this time.  Hotel information MUST be made available at the coaches meeting.  The tournament MUST have a way to contact everyone cell phone prefered.

 Hitting Contest, Around the Horn  and Fastest Team Contest:

 These will be held at Northview Thursday during the tournament.  The hitting contest will be first followed by the Around the Horn and Fastest Team contest.  Each team will be allowed one player for the hitting contest and the fastest team contest shall consist of four players, and the teams infield will do Around the Horn, these contests are put on by Eagan, any questions can be answered at he coaches meeting.

 Opening Ceremonies begin at 6:30 PM Thursday with all teams lining up at the Northview complex for entry into the ceremonies.

 Mandatory Managers Meeting:

 July 21, 2010, 8:00 PM at the:  (1 Coach in ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY). we do have limited space.

The Managers meeting will be held at:

Eagan Community Center 

1501 Central Parkway    Off of 35E and West of Pilot Knob Road 

We will require that no more than One (1) team representatives be in attendance.  Tournament rules will be discussed and there will be a brief question and answer session.
